Below is a list of restrictions and limitations that apply to garage sales in the Gosford Council area. What you can see is pretty much a copy and paste of the information that was provided to me by the Gosford Council. I suggest you use this information as a rough guide only and double check to be sure.
Gosford City Council does not have in place any development controls for garage sales in its local government area.
The activity would be considered ancillary development to a dwelling.
In addition, should Council receive concerns in relation to the operation of the activity, i.e. if Council the same dwelling operated a garage sale every weekend and/or regularly on weekdays and it affected the amenity of the neighbourhood then Council may consider the activity as a home occupation under SEPP (Exempt & Complying Development Codes) 2008, then the relevant standards applicable to such development under that code may apply.
The rules on this website may be outdated or wrong. It is your own responsibility to make sure that you adhere to the current rules and regulations that apply to garage sales in your area.
