Auburn Council Garage Sale Rules

Below is a list of restrictions and limitations that apply to garage sales in the Auburn Council area. What you can see is pretty much a copy and paste of the information that was provided to me by the Auburn Council. I suggest you use this information as a rough guide only and double check to be sure.

Auburn Council has no formal policy on garage sales. It is understood however, that the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure may be preparing a set of requirements for inclusion within the State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008. It is suggested that you contact the department to verify this.

In the interim, you are advised that garage sales may occur only in conjunction with an established residential use of a dwelling house and should not occur on more than 2 occasions per year and should occur in such a way as to not interfere with the amenity of the locality or neighbouring properties in any way.
